Procedure

Following the procedure for 10-(2-propoxyphenyl)-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydroazepino[4,5-b]indole and substituting 1-iodobutane for 1-iodopropane while making non-critical variations the title compound was obtained as 128 mg (50%) of a brown oil: 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.94 (br s, 1H), 7.37-7.30 (m, 2H), 7.25 (dd, J=8.0 Hz, 0.9 Hz, 1H), 7.17-7.13 (m, 1H), 7.05-7.04 (m, 1H), 6.99 (d, J=8.2 Hz, 1H), 6.95-6.93 (m, 1H), 3.96-3.87 (m, 2H), 3.11-3.00 (m, 2H), 2.96-2.81 (m, 4H), 2.44-2.39 (m, 2H), 1.59-1.51 (m, 2H), 1.27-1.17 (m, 2H), 0.80 (t, J=7.4 Hz, 3H); HRMS (FAB) calcd for C22H26N2O+H1: 335.2123 found 335.2137.
