To a solution of 2-[5-[4-(acetoxyacetyl)hexahydro-1,4-diazepin-1-yl]pyrazin-2-ylcarbonylamino]-5-methyl-N-(5-chloropyridin-2-yl)benzamide (Example 86, 0.22 g) in methanol (5 mL) was added potassium carbonate (0.1 g) and water (1 mL). The mixture was stirred overnight, the methanol was evaporated, and the resulting solution acidified to pH 5 with acetic acid. The solids were filtered, washed with water (2×3 mL), ether (3 mL) and dried under vacuum. Yield=0.19 g.
