To a solution of 5-fluoro-2-[5-(hexahydro-1,4-diazepin-1-yl)pyrazin-2-ylcarbonylamino]-N-(5-chloropyridin-2-yl)-benzamide (Example 1, 0.3 g, 0.64 mmol) in methylene chloride was added methyltributylammonium chloride (1 mL), N,N-diisopropylethylamine (2.2 mL) and tert-butyl bromoacetate (2.496 g). The mixture was stirred at room temperature until a clear solution was obtained (24–48 h), diluted with methylene chloride (50 mL), washed with water (2×10 mL) and brine, dried over sodium sulfate, evaporated, and dried. Yield=0.079 g.
