Procedure
A reaction vial was charged with the product of Example 1, Step J, 5-fluoro-6-(2-fluoro-4-iodo-phenylamino)-3-methyl-3H-benzoimidazole-5-carboxylic acid pentafluorophenyl ester (0.5229 g, 0.8585 mmol) and DMF (1 mL). Saturated aqueous ammonia (3 mL) was added to the solution, giving a white precipitate immediately. The mixture was stirred for 10 minutes and then was vacuum-filtered and suctioned to afford the white solid product (0.3509 g). Yield: 93.3%, mp 265–268° C. DEC.
