Reaction Steps
tert-butyl (2,4-dioxo-5-phenyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-1,5-benzodiazepin-1-yl)acetate (9.5 g, 25.9 mM) was dissolved in 200 ml of 4N HCl in dioxane and stirred overnight. Solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure providing 7.8 g of product.
