Reaction Steps
To a solution of 7β-[2-(5-amino-1,2,4-thiadiazol-3-yl)-2-ethoxyiminoacetamido]-3-[3-amino-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-pyrazolio]methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate (syn isomer) (5 g) in water (50 ml) was added 1M sulfuric acid (8 ml). The solution was lyophilized to give 7β-[2-(5-amino-1,2,4-thiadiazol-3-yl)-2-ethoxyiminoacetamido]-3-[3-amino-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-pyrazolio]methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate sulfate (syn isomer) (5.2 g).
