A mixture of 1-pyrrolidinocyclohexene (15.1 g; 0.1 mole) and diethyl phosphite (13.8 g; 0.1 mole) was heated for 2 hours on a steam bath. The resulting liquid showed no absorption in the infrared for C=C or P-H. Distillation yielded pure diethyl 1-pyrrolidinocyclohexane-1-phosphonate, bp 80°-85°/0.1 mm. ##STR8##
