Procedure
A solution of 2-(1-methylethenyl)benzenesulfonyl isocyanate in methylene chloride (0.9 g, 4 mmol active ingredient) was added via syringe to a nitrogen purged flask containing a 2-amino-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine and a trace (ca. 10 mg) of DABCO. The mixture was heated to reflux for 3 hours then stirred at room temperature overnight. Evaporation of the mixture left a semisolid residue that was triturated with ether and filtered. In this manner 0.95 g of the title compound was obtained, m.p. 177°-183°.
