Procedure

The title compound of Example 1 (1.0 g) was dissolved in 20 ml of absolute ethanol, and 0.1 g NaBH4 was added with stirring under N2 atmosphere. The reaction mixture was stirred for two hours, added to 1N HCl, and the mixture concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure to give a crystalline mass. This solid was extracted into ethyl acetate, and the extractants combined and washed with water, then dried over sodium sulfate. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound, m.p. ca. 75° C. ##STR9##
