Procedure

A suspension of 3,4-bis(phenylmethoxy)-N-phenylmethyl benzeneethanamine (10 g), ethyl 6-bromohexanoate (10.5 g), potassium carbonate (6.34 g) and potassium iodide (1 g) in acetonitrile (250 ml) was heated under reflux for 24 hours.
