Procedure

Utilizing the procedure of Preparation 21, 1,4-dichloro-2-butanol was reacted with 4-hydroxybenzamide to give white title compound, m.p. 150°-153° C. in 25% yield. The recrystallizing solvent was 95% ethanol.
