Reaction Steps
0.69 g of Compound 17 and 0.31 g of hydrazine hydrate were added to 20 ml of methanol and the solution was heated under reflux for 24 hr. The solvent was distilled off to give 0.63 g of 5-hydrazino-1,3-dimethylpyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4-dione (Compound 18).
