Procedure

A mixture of 417 mg (1.47 mmol, 1.0 equiv) 1-cyclohex-2-enyl-3-ethyl-1H-indazole-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester and 50 mg of 10% Pd/C, 50% water wet in 20 mL ethyl acetate was placed on a Parr® hydrogenation appartus and shaken under 45 psi H2 for 45 minutes. The reaction mixture was filtered through Celite®, and the filtrate concentrated on a rotary evaporator and dried at high vacuum, room temperature to give 399 mg (95%) of a clear oil: HRMS calcd for C17H22N2O2+H: 287.1759. Found: 287.1783.
