LiBH4 (70 mg) was added in portions and during 4 h to a refluxed solution of 6-bromo-3-carboethoxy-8-(2,6-dimethyl-4-fluorobenzylamino)-2-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (100 mg, 0.23 mmol) in THF. The reaction mixture was quenched by addition of diluted HCl and methylene chloride was added. The organic layer was separated, dried and evaporated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel, using methylene chloride:ethyl acetate (100:10) as eluent to give 40 mg (44%) of the title compound.
