Procedure

To a solution of 128 mg (0.42 mmol) of 1-(t-butoxycarbonyl)-4-(3-(2-pyridyl)propyl)piperidine (from EXAMPLE 72, Step A) in 1 mL of CH2Cl2 was added 1 mL of TFA. After stirring for 2 h at rt, the reaction was concentrated to give the title compound: 1H NMR (500 MHz) 1.22-1.46 (5H), 1.46 (9H), 1.73-1.79 (4H), 2.68 (t, J=11.8, 2H), 2.78 (t, J=7.8, 2H), 3.19 (d, J=11.8, 2H), 5.32 (br s, 1H), 7.09-7.15 (2H), 7.59 (t, J=7.7, 2H), 8.52 (d, J=4.6, 1H).
