Procedure
Following the procedure of the preceding Example, 8-fluoro-5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-(6-amino-1-hexyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole (1.6 g, 4.2 mmoles) was reacted with ethylchloroformate (0.45 ml, 4.6 moles) in methylene chloride (5 ml) in the presence of triethylamine (2.3 ml, 16.7 mmoles), and the title product isolated and purified, except that ethyl acetate was used as eluant in the silica gel chromatography (365 mg, m.p. 159°-162° C.).
