Procedure

Ethyl 2-pentyloxyimino-2-(2-amino-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)acetate (syn isomer) (28.6 g.) and 2 N sodium hydroxide aqueous solution (100.2 ml.) were reacted in a mixture of methanol (100 ml.) and tetrahydrofuran (100 ml.) according to similar manners to those of Preparation 9-(1) and 9-(2) to give 2-pentyloxyimino-2-(2-amino-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)acetic acid (syn isomer) (22.4 g.), mp 176° C. (dec.)
