A mixture of 4.0 g 10-chloro-3-fluoro-8-isopropyl-10,11-dihydrodibenzo (b,f) thiepin (Example 1), 4.0 g 1-(3-hydroxypropyl) piperazine (T. Zawisa et al., Acta Polon. Pharm. 22, 477, 1965) and 7 ml of chloroform was refluxed for 5 hours and then processed in the manner described in Example 2. 4.4 g (76%) of an oily base which was converted to a crystalline dimaleate, m.p. 106°-108° C. (ethanol) was obtained.
