Procedure

Coupler (15): A mixture of 5 g of the intermediate prepared in the above procedure and 5 g of aluminum bromide was refluxed under heating in anhydrous benzene for 16 hours and then by treating the product with dilute hydrochloric acid, 4-(4-nitrophenoxy)-2-hexadecanoylaminophenol having a melting point of 96-97° C was obtained. The solvent used for the recrystallization was methanol. Then, by following the same procedure as in the synthesis of Coupler (1) in Synthesis Example 1, the desired coupler was obtained.
