A solution of 5-acetyl-2-fluorobenzenesulphonamide (1 g) and piperidine (0.98 g) in ethanol (50 ml) was heated under reflux for 3.5 hours. The solvent was removed and the residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate (100 ml) and washed with water (2 × 100 ml). The organic phase was dried (MgSO4) and concentrated and the product was crystallised from isopropanol, 0.92 g, m.p. 130.5°-131.5°.
