In the manner given in Example 1B, 1-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-4-(p-nitrobenzyl)piperazine is reduced with aqueous titanium trichloride to give 1-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-4-[(4-aminophenyl)methyl-]piperazine.
