8-Methoxymethoxymethylflavone-3-carboxylic acid was reacted with diphenylphosphoryl azide and then with t-butanol. The resultant product was hydrolyzed with aqueous hydrochloric acid-dioxane to give 3-aminoflavone-8-methanol.
