Procedure
To an ambient solution of Example 8A (0.20 g, 0.48 mmol) in dichloromethane (2 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (2 mL). The reaction was stirred for 2 h, and was then concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was partitioned between saturated aqueous NaHCO3 (5 mL) and ethyl acetate (5 mL). The layers were separated, and the aqueous was extracted with additional ethyl acetate (2×5 mL). The combined organics were dried with anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to yield the title compound, which was used without further purification. MS (ESI) m/z 322 [M+H]+.
