A mixture of methyl 3-amino-4-chloro-2-[(3-hydroxypropyl)amino]benzoate (3.13 g, 12.1 mmol) and 3,5-dichloro-2-isothiocyanatopyridine (3.23 g, 15.7 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (40 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 3 days. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo, and the residue was washed with ethyl acetate/diisopropyl ether to give the title compound as a colorless crystal (3.43 g, 7.4.0 mmol, 61%).
