Procedure

A HCl solution (2 M in Et20, 1.01 mL) was added to tert-butyl[(1R)-2-({6-[3-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]pyrimidin-4-yl}amino)-1-phenylethyl]carbamate (200 mg, 0.41 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (4 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt overnight. The precipitate was filtered and washed with Et2O to yield the title compound (138 mg, 79%). MS (ESI): mass calcd. for C19H16ClF3N4, 392.10; m/z found, 393.1 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (CD3OD): 8.85 (s, 1H), 8.13 (s, 1H), 8.04 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 1H), 7.93 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 1H), 7.56-7.44 (m, 5H), 7.15 (s, 1H), 4.74-4.70 (m, 1H), 4.26 (dd, J=14.1, 7.1 Hz, 1H), 4.14 (dd, J=14.4, 7.1 Hz, 1H).
