To a solution of (S)-methyl 3-(2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylate (200 mg, 0.70 mmol) in dichloromethane (30 mL) was added pyridine (220 mg, 2.78 mmol), followed by dropwise addition of Tf2O (393 mg, 1.39 mmol) with stirring at 0° C. The resulting solution was stirred overnight at room temperature and then quenched by the addition of ice-water (50 mL), extracted with dichloromethane (3×10 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under vacuum to afford (S)-methyl 3-(2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as red oil (292 mg, crude).
