To a solution of methyl 3-(cyclopropyl(methyl)amino)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylate (120 mg, 0.44 mmol) in dichloromethane (10 mL) was added pyridine (135 mg, 1.71 mmol) and Tf2O (230 mg, 0.82 mmol) under nitrogen atmosphere. After stirring overnight at room temperature, the reaction was quenched by the addition water/ice (50 mL), extracted with dichloromethane (2×10 mL), dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and concentrated under vacuum to give methyl 3-(cyclopropyl(methyl)amino)-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as red oil (130 mg, crude).
