To a solution of (R)-methyl 3-(sec-butylamino)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylate (300 mg, 1.10 mmol) in dichloromethane (40 mL) was added pyridine (344 mg, 4.36 mmol) and then Tf2O (615 mg, 2.18 mmol) was added dropwise with stirring at 0° C. The resulting solution was stirred for 2 h at room temperature and then washed with water (3×50 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo to afford (R)-methyl 3-(sec-butylamino)-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as red oil (400 mg, crude).
