To a solution of (R)-methyl 3-(2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylate (200 mg, 0.70 mmol) in dichloromethane (30 mL) was added pyridine (221 mg, 2.79 mmol) and then Tf2O (395 mg, 1.40 mmol) dropwise with stirring at 0° C. The resulting solution was stirred overnight at room temperature, then quenched by the addition of ice-water (50 mL), extracted with dichloromethane (3×20 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under vacuum to afford (R)-methyl 3-(2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as red oil (250 mg, crude).
