To a solution of methyl 2-chloro-3-[methyl(propan-2-yl)amino]quinoxaline-6-carboxylate (850 mg, 2.90 mmol) in DME (20 ml) was added 2-methyl-5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-1H-indole (1.4 g, 5.44 mmol), potassium carbonate (751 mg, 5.43 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4 (157 mg, 0.14 mmol) and water (5 ml) under an inert atmosphere of nitrogen. The resulting solution was stirred for 1 h at 90° C. and then diluted with water (300 ml), extracted with ethyl acetate (3×100 ml), and the organic layers combined and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo to give a residue, which was purified by a silica gel column (1%-5% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to afford methyl 3-[methyl(propan-2-yl)amino]-2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-5-yl)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as a yellow solid (660 mg, 58%).
