To a solution of ethyl 7-methyl-3,4-dihydropyrido[2,1-c][1,2,4]thiadiazine-9-carboxylate 2,2-dioxide (106 mg) in methanol (1 mL) was added 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (1 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. To the reaction mixture were added 1N hydrochloric acid (1.05 mL) and water (1 mL), and the resulting precipitate was collected by filtration, washed successively with water and a small amount of THF, and dried to give the title compound (79 mg) as a pale-yellow solid.
