A mixture of 9-[(7-methoxynaphthalen-2-yl)oxy]-3,4-dihydropyrido[2,1-c][1,2,4]thiadiazine 2,2-dioxide (120 mg), platinum (IV) oxide (76 mg) and acetic acid (10 mL) was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure. To the residue was added a saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and saturated brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was crystallized from ethyl acetate and hexane to give the title compound (27.4 mg) as a gray white solid.
