A stirred mixture of 4-isopropoxybenzene-1-sulfonyl chloride (0.10 g, 0.52 mmol) and 3-methyl-1-(quinolin-5-yl)-1H-pyrazol-5-amine (prepared from Example 4 step b, 0.10 g, 0.44 mmol) in pyridine (2 mL) was heated at 80° C. for 1 h. After cooling to room temperature, aqueous saturated sodium bicarbonate was added to the reaction mixture and extracted with dichloromethane. The organic layer was dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. The crude residue was purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, 2-10% methanol in dichloromethane), followed by reverse phase HPLC(C18 column, acetonitrile-H2O with 0.1% TFA as eluent) to give the title compound as a white solid (0.015 g, 0.036 mmol, 8%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.58 (dd, J=2.0, 4.0 Hz, 1H), 8.09 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 1H), 7.61 (dd, J=7.6, 8.4 Hz, 1H), 7.50 (d, J=2.0 Hz, 1H), 7.48 (d, J=1.6 Hz, 1H), 7.25-7.21 (m, 2H), 7.14 (dd, J=0.8, 7.2 Hz, 1H), 6.74 (d, J=2.4 Hz, 1H), 6.72 (d, J=2.0 Hz, 1H), 6.25 (s, 1H), 4.57 (hept, J=6.0 Hz, 1H), 2.33 (s, 3H), 1.39 (d, J=6.4 Hz, 6H); MS: (ES) m/z calculated for C23H23N4O3S [M+H]+ 423.2. found 423.0.
