To a 7-bromo-3,4-dihydrobenz o[b]oxepin-5(2H)-one (3 g, 12.6 mmol) and triethylamine (10 mL, 18.9 mmol) in DCM (100 mL) was added tert-butyldimethyl(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)silane (3.06 g, 12.4 mmol) dropwise under argon at room temperature, the mixture was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. The mixture was washed with NaHCO3, dried over Na2SO4, concentrated to give crude (7-bromo-2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]oxepin-5-yloxy)(tert-butyl)dimethylsilane (3.40 g, 81%).
