The title compound was prepared using the procedure described in Example 52(b) starting from ethyl 2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylate (3.6 mmol, 0.8 g) and SEM-Cl (4.3 mmol, 0.8 ml). Yield 602 mg. 1H-NMR (400 MHz; CDCl3): δ 0.01 (s, 9H), 0.91 (t, 2H), 1.39 (t, 3H), 3.48 (t, 2H), 3.75 (q, 2H), 4.39 (q, 2H), 5.33 (s, 2H), 7.69 (s, 1H).
