To a suspension of potassium carbonate (7.06 g, 50 mmol, 1.50 equiv.) and 2-amino-3,5-dichloro-N-(diethyl-λ4-sulfanylidene)benzamide (9.98 g, 34.05 mmol) in dichloromethane (50 mL) was added a solution of 2-(3-chloro-2-pyridyl)-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrazole-3-carbonyl chloride (13.8 g, 37.8 mmol, 1.10 equiv.) in dichloromethane (50 mL) at room temperature. After 3 h at this temperature, the solids were filtered off and water was added to the filtrate. The mixture was extracted with dichloromethane and dried over Na2SO4. After filtration, the filtrate was concentrated in vacuum and the resulting solids were crystallized from diethyl ether to yield the title compound (10.1 g, 52%).
