To 2 ml of N,N-dimethylformamide, 200 mg of 5-ethyl-2-imino-3-[2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazoline hydrochloride and 76 mg of 1-cyclopentene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride were added and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. Water was added to the reaction mixture and the crystals so precipitated were collected by filtration. The crystals were washed with water and ethanol and then dried, whereby 170 mg of the title compound was obtained.
