Procedure
4-[(3R,4R)-(4-Hydroxytetrahydrofuran-3-yl)oxy]-2-(1-piperazinyl)quinazoline (cf. Example 19) (499 mg) and fumaric acid (192 mg) are dissolved in ethanol (20ml), and the mixture is allowed to stand at room temperature. The precipitated crystals are separated by filtration, and recrystallized from water-acetone to give 4-[(3R,4R)-(4-hydroxytetrahydrofuran-3-yl)oxy]-2-(1-piperazinyl) quinazoline 1/2 fumarate (462 mg) as crystals.
