The method of Example 6 was repeated using methyl 2-fluoro-4-(4-ethoxy-phenyl)-4-methylpent-2-enoate (Example 4) (0.2 g), diethyl ether (15 ml) and lithium hydride (0.1 g) to yield the title compound (0.16 g, 90%).
