Procedure

The product from Step 4A (500 mg) was dissolved in acetonitrile (20 ml) and 100 ml of hydrogen fluoride (48%) was added. The reaction was stirred for 20 minutes at room temperature, quenched with saturated sodium bicarbonate, then extracted with ethyl acetate. Removal of solvent in vacuo followed by chromatography on silica gel (80% ethyl acetate/hexane) gave 300 mg of product (Mass, 1H and 13C NMR data consistent with the title compound.
