Reaction Steps
3 b) The ester from 3 a, 3 eq. of potassium carbonate and 1.1 eq. of 3-hydroxypyridine were heated under reflux in DMF for 3 hours. After standard working up and purification, ethyl E-3-[4-(3-pyridyloxy)-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-methyl-propenoate was obtained.
