Procedure
1.28 g (3.12 mmol) of N-(7-bromo-2,3-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxalin-5-ylmethyl)-piperidine-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester hydrobromide (penultimate compound in Example 2) are stirred at 20° C. for 16 hours in 12 ml of 2N sodium hydroxide solution. The mixture is acidified with 2N hydrochloric acid, and the resulting solid is filtered off and washed with water and diethyl ether. The title compound is obtained in the form of a white solid.
