To a solution of 1-[2-(4-bromomethyl-2-methyl-phenyl)-2-oxo-ethyl]-4-(5-bromo-pyridin-2-ylmethoxy)-1H-pyridin-2-one (preparation 4b, 1000 mg, 1.98 mmol) in N,N-dimethylacetamide (5 mL) is added dimethylamine (3.0 mL of 2M solution in THF, 6.0 mmol). The reaction mixture is stirred 2 h at room temperature. The mixture is purified via reverse phase HPLC chromatography (Gilson Xbridge C18 5 μm, gradient 5%→90% acetonitrile in water+0.3% NH4OH, 120 mL/min).
