To a solution of tert-butyl 4-{3-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-5-fluorophenoxy}piperidine-1-carboxylate (180 mg, 0.51 mmol) in DCM (2.4 mL) was added 4.0M hydrogen chloride in dioxane (1.0 mL, 4.1 mmol). The reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for 6 hours. The solvent was removed to give the desired product as white solid (145 mg, 87%). LCMS (M+H)+: 253.1.
