Azetidine (0.62 mL, 9.2 mmol, Aldrich) was added to a solution of ethyl 6-(bromomethyl)-2-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine-4-carboxylate (1.76 g, 4.16 mmol, prepared in the manner outlined in Example 47, Step A) in methylene chloride (39 mL). and the reaction was stirred for 20 minutes. Solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel, eluting with a gradient from 0-5% MeOH in DCM to afford product (0.74 g, 61%); LCMS (M+H)+: 290.0.
