Procedure

tert-Butyl {[1-[(2-cyanophenyl)sulfonyl]-5-(2-cyanopyridin-3-yl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl]methyl}methylcarbamate (239 mg) was dissolved in ethyl acetate (2 mL) and ethanol (2 mL), and 4 mol/L hydrogen chloride-ethyl acetate solution (4 mL) was added. After stirring at room temperature for 2 hr, the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was recrystallized from ethanol to give the title compound (yield 185 mg, yield 89%).
