To (R)-5-(2-(5-fluoro-2-methoxypyridin-3-yl)pyrrolidin-1-yl)-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carboxamide (77 mg, 0.192 mmol) in a pressure reaction tube was charged hydrogen chloride (4 N dioxane, 4.8 mL, 19.2 mmol) and the resulting white suspension was heated at 85° C. overnight. After cooling to ambient temperature, the reaction mixture was decanted to yield the crude product as brownish oily residue, which was dried in vacuo and directly used in the next step without further purification. MS (apci) m/z=405.0 (M+H).
