Procedure

To a solution of 30j (680 mg, 1.58 mmol) in DCM (20 mL) was added CF3COOH (1.79 g, 15.8 mmol). The solution was left to stir at rt until TLC analysis indicated the total consumption of the SM. Then the solvent was removed to get the crude desired product as yellow oil, which was used without further purification in the next step.
