Using the procedure for Step E in Example 1, the title compound was prepared from 5-bromo-2-chloromethyl-1H-benzimidazole (200 mg, 0.816 mmol) and α,α,α-trifluoro-p-cresol (132 mg, 0.816 mmol) and was obtained as an off-white solid (76.2 mg, 25% yield).
