A solution of 1-(1-benzylpiperidin-4-yl)-3-[4-(methylsulphonyl)benzyl]-1,3-dihydro-2H-imidazol-2-one (1.2 g) in ethanol was hydrogenated under a hydrogen filled balloon using 20% palladium on charcoal as catalyst. The catalyst was filtered and the filtrate evaporated to dryness to give the title compound, yield 0.6 g, NMR CDCl3 1.6-2 (m, 5H) 2.8 (m, 1H) 3.05 (s, 3H) 3.2-4.5 (m, 7H) 4.45 (s, 2H) 7.5 (d, 2H) 7.9 (d, 2H).
